Speaker: Maureen Shaw
Maureen Shaw is President of Act Three Consulting, and the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Industrial Accident Prevention Association (IAPA). Maureen has played an invaluable role in planning, organizing, and producing this conference.
Maureen has been the recipient of many national and international awards for her work, and her commitment to health and safety keeps her busy. She serves or has served:
- On the Mental Health Commission of Canada Advisory Committee on Workplace Mental Health;
- On the Board of Directors for the Radiation Safety Institute;
- As the Executive in Residence at the Banff Centre of Management.
In November of 2009, Maureen was recognized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) for her “contribution and commitment to the worldwide advancement of occupational safety and health”. Here at home, on the occasion of her retirement after 15 years as President and CEO of IAPA, the title “the Mother of Health and Safety in Canada” was bestowed upon her.
