Speaker: Mike Harnett
Mike is both President and Director of Operations for WorkSMART Ergonomics Ltd., a progressive consulting firm that specializes in industrial, field, and office ergonomics, injury prevention training, aging workforce issues, and shift work and fatigue management programming.
Mike has over 20 years experience as both a practitioner and manager of occupational health and safety programming within various municipal, provincial, and federal government agencies as well as manufacturing, transportation, utilities, oil and gas, construction, pulp and paper, chemical, food, and health service industries.
She is a former Regional President of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists, and has previously sat on advisory boards for various OHS diploma programs. She’s often contacted as a subject matter expert for CRSP exam preparation workshops.
Mike is currently an active representative on two CSA Technical Committees:
- Standard Z1002: Hazard Identification and Elimination, Risk Assessment and Control
- Standard Z1003: Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace
Recognized as a specialist in the development and delivery of innovative training for both management and workers, Mike emphasizes the use of interactive methods with a healthy dose of fun thrown in.
